Alongside the consultancy, there is the Out of Area Foundation (Stichting Out of Area). The foundation organises community projects in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, in which pupils, students, companies and individuals roll up their sleeves themselves.
Projects that match who you are
The foundation runs projects in countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Georgia. They involve schools, youth centres, day-care centres, care homes, outpatient clinics and institutions for people with disabilities.
Local teachers, doctors and head teachers identify the needs. The foundation then matches a group to a project that suits their course, field and number of participants. Participants prepare the project themselves: they draw up a plan, find sponsors and prepare the educational activities, building work or work placement.
- For schools and colleges. A project that fits the participants' field of study.
- For companies. A community project with your team, making a real contribution on the ground.
- For individuals. Help as a volunteer with preparation or delivery.
Two organisations, one origin
Out of Area B.V. grew out of the foundation. The work abroad shaped the consultancy: working in unfamiliar settings, with people who think differently, and achieving something together.
